What is this? A Mac! In my apartment? In my house?!?
Yes. Yes. I know. But when M1 Macs were introduced, I got hooked on power savings, no fan (total silence!) and it’s able to run WoW!
So for fun, from early 2020 I used an old MacBook Pro (Mid-2012), just to see if I could get used to using a Mac. Now, I wasn’t able to run MacOS Big Sur. Neither was I able to run WoW acceptably. So I still used a trusty old Dell 7010 with a passively cooled video card in it, when playing WoW. And then, I waited. Because, perhaps Apple would release an updated MacBook Air for Fall 2021. First generation is more often than not, superseded by a wastly superior 2nd generation model.
Alas, a new generation did arrive, but not very superior. Instead Apple redesigned their MacBook Pros with an M1 Pro and M1 Ultra and also … they weren’t very pretty.They weren’t even fanless. So I jumped on an M1 Air in November 2021. For now, I’ve been using it for a little over 6 months, and I’m still very happy with it. Now if only Metageek would supply me with a Chanalyzer-app for Mac, I’d be happy 😉
